Dernier jour ! San Francisco en voiture après une longue journée de marche (hier). La circulation n'est pas trop chargée donc ça va. On commence par aller jusqu'au pied du Golden Gate qui est toujours dans les nuages; Puis on va parc Alamo en passant par nombre de rues montantes et descendantes et notamment la partie de Lombard qui est une succession de 8 lacets très serrés. C'est amusant et impressionnant car assis dans une voiture on se rend beaucoup plus compte du degré de la pente et à chaque croisement en montant on ne voit pas quand on arrive idem en descendant on ne voit plus la suite. Au parc Alamo il y a quelques maisons de style victorien typiques. Mais pas seulement qu'au parc, aussi dans les rues du quartier. Il faut juste prendre le temps de chercher. On laisse la voiture dans une rue gratuite, il y en a plein dans ce quartier. Après un pic-nic avec un superbe panorama typiquement de San Francisco, on part à pied et en métro jusqu'à la mairie de SF et le Ferry building, départ des ferries du Port de SF. Entre deux on va déambuler sur Market, une des artères principales du centre ville. Puis retour en voiture au Golden Bridge, plus que jamais dans la brume puisque celle-ci gagne toute la ville. Direction l'aéroport pour rendre la voiture. On l'aurait bien ramené en France, enfin moi en tout cas. Voilà, c'est fini, demain matin décollage à 8h locale pour retour à Paris via un stop de 1h20 à NYC (JFK).

Last day! San Francisco by car after a long day of walking (yesterday). Traffic is not too busy so it’s okay. We start by going to the foot of the Golden Gate which is always in the clouds; Then we go park Alamo through many up and down streets and in particular the part of Lombard which is a succession of 8 very tight laces. It’s fun and impressive because sitting in a car you realize much more the degree of the slope and at each crossing going up you do not see when you arrive idem going down you no longer see the continuation. In Alamo Park there are some typical Victorian style houses. But not only in the park, also in the streets of the neighborhood. We just have to take the time to look. We leave the car on a free street, there are plenty of them in this neighborhood. After a picnic with a superb panorama typically of San Francisco, we leave on foot and by subway to the town hall of SF and the Ferry building, departure of the ferries of the Port of SF. In between we will walk on Market, one of the main arteries of the city center. Then return by car to the Golden Bridge, more than ever in the mist since it reaches the whole city. Go to the airport to return the car. We would have brought him back to France, well, I in any case. That’s it, it’s over, tomorrow morning take off at 8h local to return to Paris via a stop of 1h20 in NYC (JFK).
