Pour ma part je commence une belle matinée chaude à Los Angeles par 21 km de roller sur Ocean Front à Venice et Santa Monica Beach. C'est les 2 plages plein ouste de l’agglomération de LA. Puis on va faire un tour à Rodeo Dr. La concentration du shopping de très grand luxe à Beverly Hills. C'est sur que le quartier est magnifique. Même Rodeo Dr côté maisons, c'est pas mal. Mais Canon Dr ou Berverly Dr, c'est du haut niveau avec des centaines de palmiers. Continuation sur Sunset Boulevard pour arriver à Hollywood Boulevard sur la partie du Walk of fame. C'est là que des milliers d'étoiles en l'honneur de célébrités sont sur les trottoirs. C'est un peu decevant. Le boulevard est plus petit, il n'y a que très peu de sosies de star et d'icône du show biz américain. Quand aux étoiles je croyais qu'il y en avait avec les mains des artistes. Oui en effet mais elles sont cachées et il faut visiter le Dolby Theatre pour pouvoir les voir; Le Dolby Theatre est l'ancien Kodak Theatre où se déroule notamment la cérémonie des oscars. Pour finir on monte dans les collines nord qui dominent LA jusqu'à l'observatoire du Park Griffith. De là on a une vue quasi complète de toute l'agglomération. Dur dur pour stationner, on a donc raté le coucher de soleil. Mais on a le temps de voir la transition vers la nuit et l'illumination des lumières de la ville. Le stationnement à LA est un peu compliqué. Il y a des quantités de règles différentes d'une rue à l'autre. Bref, il faut lire les panneaux dans les rues et on peut stationner gratuitement dans beaucoup d'endroit à 5 minutes de marche des sites à visiter. Inutile donc de payer des parking pour 10 USD ou plus. Même à 200 mètres de la plage à Venice, rue gratuite toute la journée. L'essence, ici elle est particulièrement chère et encore plus à Beverly Hills, mais on fait le plein quand c'est nécessaire et pas question de conduire dans tout LA pour trouver moins cher. D'autant que l'agglomération de LA est immense et les miles s'additionnent très très vites pour passer d'un quartier à un autre. Heureusement, merci à WAZE, notre sauveur. Je n'utilise pas souvent le GPS en voiture. Mais ici c'est indispensable que l'on soit étranger ou pas. Il y a trop possibilités de rues, de boulevards et d'autoroutes.

Hard to park, so we missed the sunset. But we have time to see the transition to night and the illumination of the city lights. Parking in LA is a bit complicated. There are lots of different rules from street to street. In short, you have to read the signs in the streets and you can park for free in many places 5 minutes walk from the sites to visit. No need to pay parking for 10 USD or more. Even 200 meters from the beach in Venice, free street all day. Gas here is particularly expensive and even more so in Beverly Hills, but we fill up when necessary and no question of driving all over LA to find cheaper. Especially since the agglomeration of LA is huge and the miles add up very quickly to move from one neighborhood to another. Fortunately, thanks to WAZE, our savior. I don’t often use GPS in the car. But here it is essential whether you are a foreigner or not. There are too many possibilities of streets, boulevards and highways.
