Le système de transport en commun à San Francisco nous semble confus, surtout quand on n'a pas pris le temps de se renseigner et le Lonely Planet sur ce coup là n'aide pas du tout car il n'y a pas grand-chose dedans; bref entre les métro, les trains, les tram, les bus et les cable-car il y a de quoi faire, mais à notre station de train BART pas moyen d'avoir plus d'info que sur le système BART, genre de RER. On arrive dans le centre de San Francisco et en suivant plus ou moins notre guide et nos envies on arrive à faire un jolie trajet dans le nord de San Francisco. Ça monte et ça descend. Les cable car dévalent et remontent les pentes des rues où sont alignés les maisons de toutes les couleurs. Aux embarcadères du nord transformés en refuge pour touristes on voit des otaries, mais aussi les 3ème et 4ème épreuves de la finale de la coupe America entre les USA et la Nouvelle Zélande. On monte au sommet de la tour Coit. Très beau panorama sur une grande partie de San Francisco et de la baie. Puis exploration des rues et tentative de voir le Golden Gate. Mais il est dans le brouillard total depuis ce matin. On a juste apreçu la base des piliers, autant dire rien du tout. Pour finir la journée, rien de mieux qu'un tour en Cable car, pour ma part jr suis resté sur le marche pied tout le long, superbe.

The public transport system in San Francisco seems confusing, especially when we have not taken the time to inquire and the Lonely Planet on this one does not help at all because there is not much in it; in short between subway, trains, tram, bus and cable'cause there’s plenty to do, but at our BART train station there’s no way to get more info than on the BART system, kind of RER. We arrive in the center of San Francisco and more or less following our guide and our desires we arrive to make a nice trip in the north of San Francisco. It goes up and down. The cable cars run down and up the slopes of the streets where the houses of all colors are aligned. At the docks of the north transformed into a refuge for tourists we see sea lions, but also the 3rd and 4th rounds of the final of the America Cup between the USA and New Zealand. We climb to the top of the Coit Tower. Very beautiful panorama over much of San Francisco and the bay. Then exploring the streets and trying to see the Golden Gate. But it’s been in total fog since this morning. We have just learned the base of the pillars, so say nothing at all. To end the day, nothing better than a ride in Cable because, for my part jr stayed on the step foot all along, superb.
